Judith’s passion for social justice inspired her to work for twenty-five years within the UK Domestic Abuse sector. She began directly supporting families affected by Domestic Abuse, first by running women’s refuge accommodation and then as an Independent Advocate for victim / survivors.

For the last fifteen years, Judith has worked within local government teams and charities of all sizes, supporting a multi-agency approach to Domestic Abuse across her various roles.

More recently, she was the UK National Lead on Training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (Idva) with the charity SafeLives. Her most recent full-time role was National Lead on Quality Assurance for Domestic Abuse organisations (Leading Lights), where she supported over 50 organisations through the Quality Assurance process.

Judith is currently an associate with SafeLives, training Independent Domestic Violence Advisors to an OCN Level 3 accreditation standard and Domestic Abuse Service Managers to an OCN Level 4 accreditation standard. She also delivers Domestic Abuse Awareness training for various police forces on behalf of SafeLives. In addition, Judith carries out Quality Assurance assessments for Domestic Abuse services across the UK.
